Description

I wanted to introduce myself and Professional K9. My name is Tom Cronenwett, and I have been a police officer for 30 years. During those 27 years, I was a Sergeant for 18 years and currently hold the position of Captain. I was a supervisor and instructor for a Special Response Team (SRT/SWAT) for 16 years. I have 22 years of experience as a police academy instructor in the Use of Force, D.U.I. Enforcement, Speed Enforcement, and Physical Training Instructor.

Even though my positions were very prestigious, none were as rewarding as being a K9 Handler. I began handling a police dog in 2010, allowing me to train with several dog trainers with various dog training theories over the years—those dog trainers from Germany, Belgium, and the United States. 2013, I became a police dog evaluator for The State of Ohio. As a state evaluator, I was also to certify and recertify police dogs for their yearly evaluation. I began training dogs in 2015 for police work and basic obedience training for private dog owners. 2018, I began studying behavior modification for dogs—problem-solving for dogs with behavior issues.

I founded and am president of The Central Ohio Canine Foundation (COCF). COCF is a 501(c)(3) organization that assists public safety services (Police, Fire, Search, and Rescue) dogs, military veterans, and public safety services fundraising for service dogs. We operate in 9 countries around central Ohio.

I wanted to form a dog training company based on my non-negotiables. Non-negotiables are one's values that are not open to discussion or modification. My non-negotiables are Professionalism, Integrity, Honesty, and Holistic Wellness. Professional K9 was established. The Professional K9 mission statement provides diverse, reliable, and professional quality operational canines and training.

Professional K9 is currently working with Corpsman Maxton W. Soviak - Never Forgotten Foundation and has provided five service dogs for veterans they selected.

I want to thank the International Association of Canine Professionals for allowing us to join with other elite trainers worldwide!

Respectfully,

Tom Cronenwett
