IACP co-founder, Captain Arthur Haggerty “Cap”, put dog training on the map. It was said that “ He made dog training the respected profession that it is today” He was often called “The man who trained the trainers” as his School for Dog Trainers produced some of the most acclaimed trainers of all time. His passing in 2006 was a loss felt through the international dog world.
His obituary hit the AP wire, The New York Times, The LA Times, and in newspapers as far away as Korea. “He did for dog training what the Beatles did for rock and roll,” “Dogs lost a champion,” were some of the quips about his life.
Dog Fancy magazine named Cap as one of 45 people who changed the Dog World!
