I achieve positive results for the dog and the family, improving overall quality of life and building a trusting, mutually beneficial relationship between dog and human. Addressing the holistic causes of behavior concerns, not just the symptoms, with effective relationship-building methods, tools and training techniques.
I specialize in fearful and feral dog rehabilitation. Traditional training methods often fail to address the unique needs of fearful and feral dogs. With scarce resources available in this specialized area, many trainers, rescuers, and dog parents find themselves at a loss when it comes to rehabilitating these vulnerable animals.
Drawing from extensive hands-on experience in foster, rescue, and shelter environments, I've honed in on what truly works in transforming fearful and feral dogs into happy, thriving companions. Understand that training alone doesn't equate to trust – especially for dogs who have endured trauma from hoarding situations, abuse, or neglect, or those who were once street dogs or feral roamers. These dogs need more than just commands; they need compassionate guidance and unwavering support to overcome their fears.
I believe that true rehabilitation and effective training begins with trust – trust between human and dog, trust in the process, and trust in the power of connection.
Through personalized training, compassionate support, and practical guidance, I help owners, rescuers, and trainers walk the path to a deeper bond with their canine companions. I teach how to speak the language of dogs, to understand their fears and motivations, and to guide the dog and their humans toward a brighter, happier future. Every dog deserves a chance to find their Hart to Heart connection.
My experience comes from my time fostering, rescuing, and rehabilitating dogs while volunteering for dog rescues and shelters since 2009, plus training clients’ dogs since 2014. I have fostered, rehabilitated and trained over 250 dogs and puppies, integrating them into my pack of dogs and resolving any behavior needs. I have also studied extensively with my mentors, consolidating their expertise with my own style. I am a Certified Relationship-Based Trainer through the Canine Human Relationship Institute and a Certified Dog Trainer and a Cynopraxic/LIMA Certified through IACP. I integrate the true meaning of the LIMA principle and Cynopraxic training into my work.
