Bob Ochoa brings over 18 years of dog training experience and over 35 years of large and small pet care and basic dog training to the industry.
Starting out as a client with his first German Shepherd (GSD), Harlie, Bob discovered he really enjoyed working with animals and had a real talent for connecting and communicating with dogs.
In 2006, he began his canine training career as an assistant trainer with experienced Head Dog Trainer Ron Bruce. The training and experience he has received prompted Bob to start his own dog training business, Ruff Riders Dog Training and Pet Services, in 2008, providing clients with Dog Training and other pet services in addition to continuing to train dogs with Mr. Bruce.
When Ron retired in 2017, he handed over the leash to Bob,/Ruff Riders who then took over dog training and consulting as Head Canine Trainer at an established boarding facility until late in 2020. Ron has said that Bob's calm demeanor and good humor have been a big asset to the training program.
Some of Bob's clients come from Wyoming, Grand Junction, Estes Park, Vegas and California from recommendations from other clients--but he does not travel to those locations as much as he would love to. LOL
Bob graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Sociology and a degree in Coaching and Physical Education. He also holds an Associate in Liberal Arts from Aims Community College. He continues to invest in the classroom and online education, as he is a believer in lifelong learning.
His experience and education transfer over into his skill set of working with canines and their owners. He continues to learn and stay on top of canine training as well as the best practices to train family pets and teach clients.
