All members shall adhere to the Code of Conduct which provides a guide for our daily interactions to our clients and the dogs they own.

Each individual member of the International Association of Canine Professionals shall:

Professionally conduct themselves honestly, and with trust and respect at all times towards other members, clients and the general public regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, age, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, national origin or current country of citizenship.
Assist in maintaining the honor and reputation of the IACP and their Profession and avoid any form of fraud, deception or impropriety, discrimination or violence.
Serve his/her client or customers competently and proficiently with proper care and attention.
Use professional judgment on behalf of each client or customer without regard to personal interests or interests of other clients or the desire of another person(s).
Not undertake any service or employment for which he/she is not competent.
Determine his/her ability to be of professional assistance to a client. Should the expertise required fall outside the realm of the member’s capability he/she shall seek appropriate answers and/ or support, or refer out to a fellow professional with the necessary experience and ability.
Continue to further his/her education and increase his/her knowledge, skills and experience to stay current and be able to increase the well being of themselves, the profession, clients, customers, dogs, the dog ownership community and other affiliated bodies.
IACP members may not seek to deprive any canine professional of his or her ability to conduct his or her business by seeking to restrict or ban accepted and established tools of the trade, or by seeking to restrict or ban accepted and established techniques and practices within the industry through calls for boycotts, restrictions, bans, or other actions designed to interfere with free marketplace participation of a canine professional in his or her business. Accepted and established tools of the trade include, but are not limited to, leashes, harnesses, training collars, slip collars, prong collars, head halters, remote electronic collars, and electronic pet containment systems. Accepted and established techniques and practices include, but are not limited to, those techniques and practices described in published books, videos, and professional seminars. A personal preference shall be allowed in the individual member's choice of methods, equipment and techniques within their own practice.
Give his/her client an honest opinion when consulted, and avoid bold, confident and false assurances to obtain employment, sales and/or status.
Not give false information to the Association. Doing so shall be considered grounds for lifetime dismissal.
Accept that individual member’s fees charged to the community shall be a matter between the member and their client.
Conduct themselves in a business like and professional manner while maintaining empathy and understanding for the needs of the client, customer and dog.
Use professional judgement and where it is considered of benefit to the client and/or dog, engage in consultation with other professionals to seek advice and assistance. All communications between professionals with regard to clients shall be responsible, respectful, and effective while remaining confidential endeavoring to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the professional/client relationship.
Cooperate with the IACP’s President, Board of Directors or Ethics Committee (should one be assigned) on any reported violation. Following a full investigation and adjudication of any violation, the Ethics Committee will be required to make recommendations to the Board of Directors on any action that may be taken. The final decision will rest with the Board.
Any member who has been convicted in court of cruelty to dogs or inhumane treatment of animals shall be terminated from the International Association of Canine Professionals and all privileges withdrawn. The IACP has a zero tolerance policy and will not tolerate any acts of discrimination, acts of hate, acts of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, coercion, intimidation, or any act of that impedes or interferes with anyone's civil rights. The IACP, while striving to maintain the highest standards of conduct among its members, shall not and cannot be responsible in any way for the individual acts of its members.

The IACP has a zero tolerance policy and will not tolerate any acts of discrimination, acts of hate, acts of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, coercion, intimidation, or any act of that impedes or interferes with anyone's civil rights.

The IACP, while striving to maintain the highest standards of conduct among its members, shall not and cannot be responsible in any way for the individual acts of its members.

I promise to use only the tools, equipment, methods, and techniques that I am proficient enough to incorporate into the training practice in a humane way; by ensuring that the preferred tools, equipment, method, or technique does not take precedence over their effectiveness should it be evident that the method or tool is not compatible or productive, with the dog’s response, lack of response, or creating undue stress that is counterproductive to a learning environment.
I promise to treat all dogs and other animals in accordance with all federal laws as they pertain to animal welfare and the humane treatment of animals.
If I am an IACP Certificant in the USA, I will also adhere to the state, county, city, and local municipal ordinances where I conduct and/or provide professional dog training services.
If I am an IACP Certificant in another country, I will also adhere to laws that govern my conduct while providing professional dog training services.

IACP – Privacy Policy

Instructions of use: This template of privacy policy is adapted on the basis of requirements of the Regulation EU n°2016/679 (GDPR) regarding data subject information and is provided for indicative purposes only. This is the Customer’s responsibility to assess whether or not the GDPR or any other data protection law applies to the data processing carried out by the customer through the use of the Platform and to adapt this document as necessary.

The Data Controller uses a solution called “Hivebrite”, which enables the import and export of user lists and data, the management of content and events, the organization of emailing campaigns and opportunity research and sharing as well as the management of funds and contributions of any kind.

In this regard, the Data Controller collects and processes User’s personal data in accordance with the Privacy and Cookie policy.

The Data Controller is particularly aware and sensitive with regards to the respect of its Users privacy and personal data protection. The Data Controller commits to ensure the compliance of the processing it carries out as data controller in accordance with the Data Protection Law.

Data Protection Law is the The Texas Privacy Law provides Texas residents rights available under most of the other state privacy laws, including the right to: (1) confirm whether a controller is processing personal data and to access the personal data; (2) correct inaccuracies in the personal data; (3) delete personal data; (4) obtain a copy of personal data; and (5) opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling.

The Data Controller has put in place an appropriate privacy and cookie policy to be fully transparent on how the personal data of Users are processed within the use of the Platform and services provided.

2. THE PURPOSE OF THE DATA PROCESSING

The Data Controller and its subcontractors process personal data that are freely transferred by the User when accessing the services proposed by the Platform for the following purpose:

3. DATA RETENTION PERIOD

The Data Controller informs the User that the personal data related to the User Account is retained only during the length of the User’s subscription on the Platform.

Following the termination of said subscription, the data collected upon the subscription as well as the content published by the User on the Platform shall be deleted after a period of [∙][to be determined by the Customer].

4. DATA TRANSFERS

The Users’ data are stored in the European Economic Area (EEA) by the Data Controller, [its subsidiaries] and its trusted service providers. However, depending on the processing, the Users’ data may also be transferred in a country outside the EEA, to our trusted service providers [and/or subsidiaries].

When transferring data outside the EEA, the Data Controller ensures that the data are transferred in a secured manner and with respect to the Data Protection Law. 5. COMMITMENT OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

The Data Controller commits to process User’s personal data in compliance the Data Protection Law and undertake to, notably, respect the following principles:

Process User’s personal data lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner;
Only collect and process the Users’ data for the strict purpose as described under article 2 of the present privacy policy;
Ensure that the personal data processed are adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed;
Do the best efforts to ensure that the personal data processed are accurate and, if necessary, kept up to date and take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal data that are inaccurate, having regard to the purposes for which they are processed, are erased or rectified without delay;
Keep personal User’s data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which they are processed;
Put in place all necessary technical and organizational appropriate measures in order to ensure the security, confidentiality, integrity, availability and the resilience of the process systems and services;
Limit the access to the Users’ data to the persons duly authorized to this effect;
Guarantee to the Users their rights under the Data Protection Law in relation to the processing of their data and make the best efforts to satisfy any request, where this is possible.

6. EXERCISE OF THE USERS’ RIGHTS

The User is duly informed that it disposes at any time, depending on the legal basis of the processing, a right to access, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, and to object.

When processing is based on User’s consent, the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

7. COOKIES

The Data Controller informs the User that Hivebrite, as well as its subcontractors, uses a tracking technology on its terminal such as cookies whenever the User navigates on the Platform subject to the conditions described in the Data Controller Cookie Policy [insert link].

8. RECIPIENT AND PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS THE USERS’ DATA

Only authorized persons working for the Data Controller [and, in some cases, its subsidiaries], can access your personal data. The Data Controller makes its best effort to ensure that these groups of people remain as small as possible and maintain the confidentiality and security of User’s personal data.

The Data Controller also uses trusted service providers to carry out a set of operations on his behalf for hosting [and payment services]. The Data Controller can also use service providers in the tech industry, editors of specific tools integrated in the Platform for technical purposes.

The Data Controller only provides service providers with the information they need to perform the service and ask them not to use your personal data for any other purpose.
