Who participates in it? What are the rules? \nLaurie McIntosh has been involved in French Ring since 2001 and entered her first competition in 2007. Since then\, she has competed in this remarkable sport with six dogs across four different countries\, traveling extensively throughout North America and even competing in France. Laurie has entered more than 120 French Ring trials and has taken multiple dogs to Ring III—the highest level achievable in the sport. \nLaurie is passionate about sharing the excitement and complexity of French Ring with a wider audience. In this presentation Helen will cover ways to understand and prepare for the loss of our pets\, ways to measure quality of life\, and ways to encourage and give a good quality of death. Everything from questions to ask the vet\, whether to do it at home or away\, and understanding and coping with the grief. This widely unspoken topic is incredibly important for all animal guardians to know.\n\n\nPresented by: Helen St.Pierre\, CPDT-KSA\, CDBC\, CCBC\, LFDM\, OSCT\n\n \nPresenter Bio: Helen is the owner and operator of No Monkey Business Dog Training. Based in Concord New Hampshire\, she is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA) and a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and a Operation Socialization Certified Trainer (OSCT) She is also a licensed and certified Family Dog Mediator and head of the behavior division. Helen has been training dogs for over 23 years. When not training dogs she is running the senior and hospice dog rescue – Old Dogs Go To Helen – out of her home which she founded in 2018 with her husband Jake. Together they take in displaced or abandoned senior and terminally ill dogs and give them all the care they need until they pass. Helen is a certified end of life peaceful euthanasia professional\, a certified end of life companion animal doula\, and a certified grief counselor.
